BANKING LAW

Friedemann Goldberg LLP has extensive experience working as primary outside counsel to banks. The firm’s litigation department has handled all aspects of litigation for banking clients across the state of California. The firm advises on all aspects of loans, including production of custom loan documents, advising on defaults, troubled assets, bankruptcy, workouts, and participation financing. The firm also has operations experience and handles all other corporate matters for banks such as employment and vendor relationships.

John F. Friedemann is the managing partner of the firm and leads the banking practice. He is experienced in both litigation and transactional work and has extensive expertise in matters involving fraud. He is a frequent lecturer on banking operations and lending law, including loan documentation matters, database contract disputes and UCC issues. He has taught business law courses at Sonoma Statue University and holds a lecture series, Law for Bankers, on topics such as contract law, entity law and bankruptcy law.

He has authored and been quoted in numerous articles on banking regulation and its impact to the banking industry, particularly to community banks.

Mr. Friedemann and partner Kyle Fisher obtained a $9 million jury verdict in San Francisco Superior Court for Far East National Bank against United Commercial Bank.
